Seniors have been so fun this year and Sayde was no exception! The dirt road, the leaves, the brook, a building owned by the Bakersfield Historical Society …. photography bliss. I dropped of Sayde’s order Saturday night and the excited response to the beautiful images of Sayde was perfect.

Samm is a delight. She dances in the same dance group as Brittni and after hearing how much fun Brittni had … Samm sent an email to figure out a time we could get together for her session. We had so much fun walking around St. Albans, Vermont to find a variety of urban and foliage options and even using the dance studio at Bellows Free Academy for a range of images that truly show what makes Samm the beautiful person she is on the inside and out.
Just waiting for her canvases to arrive from the printer and I’ll be off to deliver those as well as her accordion wallets, prints, and other goodies. I can’t wait!

Ashlie musician ex·tra·or·di·naire

Ashlie plays the bass clarinet (which is cool all on its own) AND she plays for a Youth Symphony Orchestra in Montpelier. I am very impressed. When I learned about her musical passion I was so so so excited to include her instrument in her senior session. During our originally scheduled date … it rained. No worries. I said it would be fun to do half the session in the rain and do the rest on an alternate date. We left the clarinet home during the rain session. I’m not so musical and don’t even pretend to know the first thing about playing an instrument but bringing one outside in the rain seemed not so wise. Ashley was awesome in the rain … so much so that we had to pull out an umbrella to even show that it was raining

Brittni’s mom contacted me saying Brittni insisted on Brown Eyed Photography for her Senior Portraits. Brittni saw Sarah’s pictures on the Brown Eyed Photography fan page when Brittni was a sophomore and was excited about her senior shoot with me ever since. I’m so glad! Brittni is such a fun senior and we loved hanging out, finding cool spots in town, and talking about life. What a gem she is!

I know. The blog has been neglected. Our move and subsequent spring on the farm has been very busy and continues to be hectic. I couldn’t resist sharing a couple images from Michelle’s wonderful senior session!

Michelle is as beautiful as she is confident. I loved spending time at her home, her elementary school, and on the busiest street in her town. Michelle is a senior rep this year for Brown Eyed Photography and I’m honored and thrilled to work with her!

We are looking for energetic seniors who are involved in their local community through sports, volunteer efforts, and similiar and are enthusiastic about working with Brown Eyed Photography in the next couple of months.

We are offering a senior rep program this year and we’re so excited about the class of 2012!

If you’re interested, contact me asap. All senior rep sessions must be completed by the end of June! Anyone who schedules their senior session by June 30th is eligible for rep benefits if interested.

Those who have already contacted me about participating in this years senior rep program – I will be sending out emails with additional information in the next couple days! Can’t wait to work with you.

Merry Christmas

Putting this together made my heart go all soft inside. We’re so appreciative to all of you for a spectacular year! A lot of changes coming in the next year with our transition to Vermont and we’re excited about all that it will bring – getting to know you all better and forming new friendships in our new home state!
Thanks for a great year! Looking forward to capturing more memories with you in 2011!

Christina at the Farm

When Christina said she’d like to come to the farm in Vermont for her senior session it made my heart glow. I love shooting in brand new places but I also love shooting in the familiar areas around the farm because it challenges me to see the environment in a new way. This time we had fun shooting in tall grass, a red wagon in the farm yard (Christina braved the mud and yuck well!), and the red metal fence near the heifers. Loved spending time with Christina and her mom and sister who acted as her personal cheer leading team.

Not me.
Morgan, class of 2011.
Morgan was so enjoyable! And her mom and sister who were an excellent coat carrying team on this chilly afternoon! We’d shoot, and the while moving on to a new spot Morgan would snuggle into her coat for a few minutes. Apparently she has a reputation for being fairly cold blooded.
Climbing a tree (insisting on climbing the tree!) that the whole family has carved initials into on their property – so fun! I love being able to shoot on location because it means one more aspect of a shoot that makes the whole experience individual. In this case, Morgan’s backyard was a great choice!
