Heidi and I went to St. Mike’s together and apparently our time at St. Mike’s overlapped with Brian… I don’t remember him, I was a senior, he was a freshman. He does remember my husband’s huge proposal that included a very large piece of campus… but that’s another story.

Heidi also doesn’t remember Brian BUT she does have a picture of her friend at a party standing next to some random guy… that’s right, it’s Brian. She met him after she graduated… and now wedding bells will be ringing at the St. Mike’s chapel in August!
First comes love, then comes the e-session, the comes marriage…, right?
Brian and Heidi make the 1.5 drive up to Enosburg, Vermont for their snowy e-session. Fun, but cold.

They want their wedding to say “Vermont”- I think we got it in the e-session. Can’t wait to incorporate their love for Vermont in their wedding pictures.

I’ve been wanting to do a snow session since… well, probably when I was hot hot in July. Thank you both for braving the cold for your e-session!

Thank You

December 24th, 2009

It has been an incredible year.
Thank you all for contributing to the fun, the creativity, and the success of this year for Brown Eyed Photography.
I’m excited about next year and everything that is planned from seniors to weddings to babies and everything in between.
But right now I’m just sitting in wonder at all that happened this year.

And as an end-of-year tribute to the friends and faces of Brown Eyed Photography, here’s a slideshow we put together highlighting all the great people I was able to work with in 2009. What a beautiful bunch they are!

Thanks again everyone, and see you in 2010!

For those wondering: there are sessions available. They’re filling up and I wanted to remind you to contact me to book soon to ensure a spot!

Family Photographer in Rhode Island

Papyrus at the Providence Place Mall contacted Brown Eyed Photography about a month ago to see if they could have a large print of a family photograph to display in their window.
Wow!
Definitely doable!
So I roped in a family that had not yet picked a date so that I could attempt to get some more fall looking pictures.
(here is the blog entry with the pictures from that shoot.)
I went today to see the display:

Alison and Russell in Boston

September 8th, 2009

Alison and Russell suggested the arboretum in Jamaica Plain for their engagement photo session. The place is a.m.a.z.i.n.g- and we went at the end of the summer- I bet it’s going to be even better when the fall colors come out, not to mention the blooms in the spring! Definitely a place I’m going back to- and we didn’t even cover half of it!
Alison and Russell are super funny together. Alison is thoughtful and straightforward- Russell is “never serious” (direct quote from Alison). The two of them together- compliment each other wonderfully.

Oh yes- and there’s a dog- Poncho. He might be only slightly less important than Russell:)

I had so much fun on Saturday, Alison and Russell. See you in October for the big day!

Only undisclosed because security wandered over to where we were and explained that there was concern that the locations name was being photographed. Sorry guys, it’s not really about you- it’s about this cute couple.

pssst… Matt and Jen were a little nervous about this… well, to be honest- Jen just claimed to be neurotic about various things- her wardrobe, having pictures taken… etc. I’m sure a comment on how not-neurotic they look would go a long way;)

Thanks so much, Matt and Jen, for a fun evening hanging out doing pictures… and then chatting for approximately 3.5 months post-picture taking:)

Katie and Darren at home

July 20th, 2009

Katie and Darren are in high demand these days with a wedding date less than a month away! We were able to have a couple hours of relative relaxation and fun while capturing these two at home…. they have a stellar garden.

I loved spending an evening with you, Katie and Darren- threatening rain and all! Hope you’re able to relax… at least a little… during these last crazy pre-wedding weeks.

I think the very first summery day of the year was Saturday… the day I met up with Kristine and Barry at their adorable house for engagement pictures. It was so enjoyable to hang out with this fun couple early on a Saturday morning. We chatted about the wedding (of course), a crazy pumpkin plant that is huge in their front lawn and a result of a discarded Halloween pumpkin, and gardening… a wide range of interesting topics!

I’m hearing very positive feedback from engagement sessions. Most All couples say that they really don’t like having their picture taken… and then about half way through the session say that they are feeling super at ease on that side of the camera and… actually enjoying themselves. I love having this relaxed time to get to know the couple a little more and “practice” for all of us- before the big day.

Anyway… enough talking- on to pictures… after all, that’s why you’re here, right?

… and with Kristine’s birthday-present-rocking-chair. When Kristine suggested using the rocking chair that is sitting on a side porch, I was thrilled. If it comes up missing one day… it’s not here, honest!

Thank you, Kristine and Barry for spending time doing pictures Saturday. I loved spending time with you and I am very excited about the unique ideas you have for your wedding. See you in October!

Laura and I met freshman year at St. Mike’s. Soon after she announced that she and Brian were engaged she contacted me about doing wedding pictures. I am very much looking forward to working with them, despite claims that they are camera shy.
All wedding packages include an engagement shoot. I think it’s a great opportunity for me to get to know you a little better (although, I’m not sure in this case I need to know Laura any better;)) and for you to get to know me.
I met with Laura and Brian at good ‘ol St. Mike’s and we hit Lake Champlain, Church St., and St. Mike’s for their photos. It was really fun to work with a couple of different locations for these two.
I know these two said they were camera shy but….

oh and…

and one more…

I’ve been having so much fun working on save-the-dates, invites, and a guest book for these two with their “camera-shy” pictures.

You guys are great… thanks so much for hanging out with me for a couple hours and having pictures done.
