Family Farm Photography in Northern NY
One of the best parts of this job is following families year-to-year; baby-to-baby; event to event. A family grows in love, laughter, and wisdom over time.
Things can feel intense when you’re parenting more kids-than-the-hands-you-have … especially when most of them are under 8. Ask me how I know 😉 … And while you’re in it, you can feel like there are so many moving pieces and you breathe carefully, ready for the next bump, the next mess, the next near-disaster. From the outside looking in though, you got this Momma and Daddy.
Rachel and Ken are in the heady days of parenting and even when it feels overwhelming, they are constantly keeping focused on the goal of raising kind, compassionate, thoughtful human beings.
As their family photographer, getting to look into the world that is their family, I’m so proud of every single one of them. Each person adds to the magic.
And I have the privilege of capturing their magic in an image. I love seeing each personality shine through and then seeing it all come together when everyone is in the same frame. It’s love and happiness, it’s frustration and deep breaths, it’s family and it can be messy – but it’s also exactly where these kids thrive and their parents get to have the front row seat in seeing these humans morph from tiny bundle of newborn to bundle of energy, enthusiastic about life. Big hugs, tickle wars, spilled milk, jumping on beds, running through the field, sweet sleeps, and long snuggles. And looking back at these beautiful images, this family is going to remember all the love.
