… and then to Vermont

After all the fun we had on the Cape, we spent a day at home and then were off to Vermont for a weekend packed with photo shoots.
Before the photo shoot marathon began though I managed to sneak a trip in to Vaillancourt Orchard with the family.

Yes, there’s a connection… the family that owns the orchard are aunt and uncle to my husband. It’s so fun to go every year. Being one of only a few orchards in the area, Vaillancourt Orchard is very very busy.

As we were leaving the orchard Paul (aka Uncle Paul) mentioned that they were pressing apples later that night. We asked if we could come watch.

Inside those black canvases are the chopped up apples to be pressed.

The apples get squeezed and the cider starts flowing.
Paul and Chris, the owners, said that they press once a week unless it’s really busy- then they press twice a week. They want to press only enough to sell because they want it to be super fresh.
We watched them press on Thursday.
On Sunday the cider was sold out.
Yum.
