Saturday Morning Family Photography

I have found that relaxed no-rush photography sessions lead to some great times and often a budding friendship. I was so excited to learn that Sam and Mark won a Brown Eyed Photography portrait session at the East Side Nursery School silent auction at the end of March. I’ve seen Sam and Mark in passing several times but never at a time conducive to chit-chat. I knew their session would provide that… and I was not let down! Sam and Mark are authentic in their interactions and I was thrilled to have the opportunity to get to know them better.

Oh, and did I mention that their family includes three delicious daughters?!?

and after a brief stop to the equally delicious Three Sisters (ice cream, of course!):

one month old twins ~ Destination: Nairobi

These two sweet boys are learning that the world is big enough to accommodate their stretching limbs at one month old. The solution? We swaddle them and take their eyes-wide-open looking inquisitively at the world around them.

This family is only in the area for a limited time. The new parents flew stateside from Nairobi before the babies arrived on this side of the belly. All four family members will be flying back home very soon! I was so glad that we were able to connect before their journey!

When Amanda’s sister-in-law contacted me about photography for Amanda and Mike’s last minute January wedding I was so excited! Amanda and Mike were super easy going and had a small intimate wedding at their home. How cool is that??!
Oh! And by the way, they were not only about half way through a wonderful surprise pregnancy…. they were (more surprise!!) expecting twins!!

Well the twins have arrived to very excited waiting parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles. Two boys who are just as easy going as their parents! I kept thinking these babies were like Sabina (my easiest baby yet!) but there were two of them! It was heaven. Heaven to have an excuse to catch up with Amanda and her mom again and heaven to position these boys with minimal fuss. The hard part was moving them after they’d cozied up to each other and we’re sleeping all peacefully!

So cute!! Their dad is a state police officer and a friend made up these onesies for the boys <3

The nursery, in January, was Mike’s office…. with white walls. And then the boy’s aunt (I think Mike’s aunt, actually) transformed this room by painting this amazing mural on every wall, incorporating architecture in the bedroom. The walls are covered with Rhode Island sea scenes. Beautiful!!

Can’t wait to see Amanda, Gavin, Sean… and anyone else from this amazing family when the boys are 6months!!
